Description
To search for whole words only proceed as follows:
- Go to the
Find and Replace panel.
- Select (tick off) the
Whole word option.
- Proceed with the Find or Replace operation.
A 'whole word' is a string of text surrounded by NON alpha-numeric characters, i.e. everything but A-Z and 0-9.
Let's imagine you are searching for the string 'game' in the following text, 'computer and videogames'.
If you do a search with the 'Whole word' option NOT selected, Alias Find and Replace will tell you he has found one occurrence of the string 'game' in the text.
Now, if you do a search with the 'Whole word' option selected, Alias Find and Replace will tell you he has NOT found an occurrence of the string 'game' in the text as he will search for the EXACT string 'game' and NOT for any other string containing 'game'.
